What an Apex Trader Funding trading journal can and can't do in UpSkalr
Last reviewed November 5, 2026
This is for Apex Trader Funding traders, especially anyone copying across several Performance Accounts, working out what a journal can read. It comes down to your platform: Rithmic and Tradovate accounts get UpSkalr's broker import, and WealthCharts accounts get a date and P/L CSV only. Copied trades across your PAs become one trade. UpSkalr doesn't calculate consistency, scaling levels or payout eligibility, so keep Apex's dashboard open for those.
Why this page has no Apex numbers
Most pages about Apex journals open with a rule table. This one doesn't. Apex's site blocked our direct reads when we wrote this on November 5, 2026, so we couldn't confirm a single figure at the source, and a wrong number here could cost you an account. Check drawdowns, targets, contract limits and payout terms in Apex's help center, and check what it currently says about copying and how many PAs you can hold.
Which import path your platform gets
| Platform | What you upload | What UpSkalr gets |
|---|---|---|
| Rithmic | R|Trader Pro's Order History CSV | Every fill, rebuilt into trades, split by account. No stops. Costs come from a table you edit. |
| Tradovate | The Fills report CSV | Every fill, rebuilt into trades, split by account, with the commission column taken off. No stops. |
| WealthCharts | A CSV with a date and a P/L column | P/L by day or by trade. No fills, prices, fees or Execution section. |
Apex's platform guide is the place to confirm what your account runs on. If you hold both Rithmic and Tradovate accounts, run two imports, because each import takes one broker.
On Rithmic
- In R|Trader Pro, open
Order Historyand select your accounts. One file covers every account on that login. - Pick up to a week of whole trading days, and check the
Order Numbercolumn is showing. - Export to CSV. Repeat for more weeks.
Our Rithmic page has the full steps, including a summer time zone limit you should read before importing older months.
On Tradovate
- In the Tradovate web app, open
Reportsand set the report type toFills. - Pick whole trading days, click
GOand let the table finish loading. - Download the CSV. Performance and Orders won't import.
The Tradovate page explains why Fills, and why you should check fees on your first day.
On WealthCharts
- Get your results into a spreadsheet. We haven't tested a WealthCharts export, so plan on shaping this file yourself.
- Keep a Date column and a P/L column. One row per date reads as daily totals, and several rows per date read as trades.
- In UpSkalr, use
Import from CSVunder Settings, Data Management, Add Historical Data.
Then, for Rithmic and Tradovate files
- Under the same menu, choose
Import from Tradovate, TopstepX or Rithmicand drop in your files. - Link each PA to a sub-account. The link stays for future imports.
- Read the review screen. Nothing saves until you click
Import.
How a copied trade across many PAs becomes one trade
Say you take two trades on a Tuesday. Trade A wins and goes to ten PAs. Trade B loses and goes to two, because you'd pulled the others. A journal that counts every account's fill as a trade shows ten wins and two losses, an 83% win rate. You made two decisions and got one right. That's 50%, and it's the number you need to see.
UpSkalr groups entries on the same contract, direction and trade date within 10 seconds into one trade, stores each PA's share, and records a zero for any PA that sat out. Weekly and Monthly win rate count that trade once. One known limit: a copier lagging several seconds across back-to-back trades can pair a leg with the wrong trade. The day totals stay right, but the split between those two trades can be off.
Premium holds up to 20 sub-accounts per account and Basic holds 5, so check the plans against your stack. When Apex replaces a blown PA, moving its sub-account to the new broker account is an explicit choice on the review screen.
What UpSkalr doesn't calculate for Apex
- Consistency: no ratio of your best day to your profit.
- Scaling levels: no daily contract or loss limit by level. Its contract ladder comes from your own risk rule and doesn't know Apex's cap.
- Payout eligibility: no qualifying days, safety net or payout count.
- A live floor: nothing watches your account during the session.
An Apex preset sets a drawdown amount and whether it's fixed, and the rest appears as text. Every Apex preset is flagged for you to confirm on Apex's site.
To work a floor yourself, take the numbers from Apex's help center and put them in the drawdown calculator.
What UpSkalr does on this route
File upload only: no auto-sync with Tradovate or Rithmic, so new sessions need another export or manual entry. It reads eight contracts (ES, MES, NQ, MNQ, YM, MYM, RTY, M2K) and leaves out the rest, so a trader mixing in CL or GC gets a partial import. After an import, total P/L, the per-PA split, direction, instrument, times and date are read-only, while notes and grades stay yours. To fix a broker figure, delete that day's trades and import again.
A day with any manual entry is never overwritten, and re-importing overlapping files can't double count a fill. On top of that record sit a contract ladder from your own risk rule, Avyras reading your logged trades, and the psychology course.
A stack of PAs turns one bad session into many blown accounts. Jon Lasley, who built UpSkalr, blew twenty Apex funded accounts in a single session with payouts already lined up. No import stops that. If sync or rule tracking matters more to you, the futures journal comparison is a better next stop, and the hub lists every route.
Common mistakes
- Reading UpSkalr's drawdown view as Apex's threshold. It's an estimate, and it can run high.
- Expecting a WealthCharts account to get fills or a per-PA split from a P/L file.
- Trusting a rule figure from a journal vendor's page, this one included, over Apex's help center.
- Mixing Rithmic and Tradovate files in one import.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does UpSkalr track my Apex rules?
No. It doesn't calculate consistency, scaling levels or payout eligibility, and it doesn't count qualifying days. An Apex preset sets a drawdown amount and whether it's fixed, and shows the rest as text flagged for you to confirm on Apex's site.
Can I import a WealthCharts account?
Not through the broker import. WealthCharts accounts get the plain CSV route: a date and a P/L column. That brings in no fills, prices or fees, so those trades have no Execution section and copied trades can't be grouped from fills.
How does UpSkalr count a trade copied across my PAs?
As one trade. Entries on the same contract, direction and trade date within 10 seconds become one trade split across your sub-accounts, and Weekly and Monthly win rate count it once. A copier lagging several seconds across back-to-back trades can pair a leg with the wrong trade, though day totals stay right.
How accurate is the drawdown view for an Apex account?
Treat it as a rough end-of-day estimate and nothing more. It always stops the floor at the starting balance, so any account whose floor stops higher or keeps trailing has less room than UpSkalr shows. Apex's dashboard is the truth.
See one copied day as one decision
If you're on Rithmic or Tradovate, import a week and look at how your copied trades group. The trial is 7 days with no card and has room for 20 sub-accounts. On WealthCharts, the P/L route is all you'll get, so weigh that first.
